The African penguin is one of South Africa’s most iconic species…and one of its most vulnerable.
We spent the morning recently kayaking along the coastline of Simon’s Town, watching these incredible birds navigate the waters they depend on for survival.
Once found in the millions, African penguin populations have declined dramatically due to overfishing, habitat loss, pollution, and climate change. Today, conservation efforts are more important than ever to help secure a future for this endangered species.
On World Ocean Day, we’re celebrating the oceans that sustain these remarkable birds and the ongoing work to protect them. 🌊🐧
