When your tongue is longer than your whole body

Weird but true flex for a pangolin, whose tongue can sometimes measure over 40cm, attaching somewhere all the way back near their pelvis and lower ribs.

Why such an extra tongue? Because this handy tool reaches far into the tunnels of ant hills, termite mounds, and other insect abodes. Perfect for licking up a few thousand insects at every meal.
