They look serene and graceful... until you see a 45 to 50 cm PURPLE tongue slide out. 😅💜

🐗 Meet the real rulers of Hoedspruit... the warthogs.

At Stella Bush Villa, wildlife sightings are not only for game drives. Sometimes they happen right in the garden.

We even have a few warthog burrows on the property, so our guests occasionally spot a curious little face popping out to see what is happening.

Fun fact:
Warthogs always enter their burrows backwards. This allows them to make a quick escape if danger approaches. Nature’s version of reverse parking.

Next time you are enjoying coffee on the patio, keep an eye on the ground. You might just meet one of our funniest neighbours. 🌿

It acts as a straw, snorkel, vacuum cleaner, hug machine, leafy snack-grabber and “hey, back off” tool… depending on the mood.
Honestly? It’s the Swiss Army Knife of the animal kingdom.
