MONDAY TIP 🎣
If you’re looking to target bigger fish, this is one bait you should have in your arsenal.
The big head bait is one of our favourites when fishing deep-water points or casting beyond a wading bank into deeper water. It’s a tough, durable bait that can withstand constant attention from smaller fish, often lasting anywhere from 40 minutes to over 2 hours depending on the peckers in the area.
It’s also particularly effective once the tide starts pushing — a time when many of the larger predators begin moving through and feeding actively.
We regularly use this bait when targeting:
✔️ Ragged-tooth sharks
✔️ Bronze whalers
✔️ Black rays
✔️ Diamond rays
Like any bait, success still comes down to fishing it in the right area at the right time, but when conditions line up, this bait has accounted for some seriously memorable fish over the years.
