Book now!

If you’re passing through Nature’s Valley, this is your sign to stop for a night or two.

We were kindly hosted in this newly listed Airbnb tucked deep into the forest and it’s one of the most beautiful two-person escapes we’ve found.

Nature’s Valley feels like a place time forgot. We enjoyed lagoon swims, long beach walks and forest hikes. There’s one restaurant in the village and somehow the food is incredible every single time.

❤️Save this for your road trip, like it so you can find it again

Part 2 of my Mont-Aux-Sources Ultra training.

In September, I’m running the 50km Mont-Aux-Sources Ultra in the Drakensberg. It’s 50km with a lot of climbing, a lot of descending, and a lot of time spent in some of the most beautiful mountains in South Africa.

I decided not to run Comrades this year. Between work, travel, and twin 3-year-old boys, life is just a bit full on, and I knew I couldn’t give Comrades the time and training it deserves. But we’re still glued to the TV today watching lots of friends and club mates out there.

Sending all the good vibes to Mike, , , the crew, and all the runners. Hope you’re having a good day out there.

I’ve also started training with because I felt like I needed a bit more guidance for trail running. I’ve done plenty of road running, but trail running is its own thing, and having some accountability and a proper plan felt like a sensible idea.

Follow along for Part 1 (coming soon) and Part 3 as training continues and we slowly make our way towards September and some time spent up in the Drakensberg ⛰️🏃🏼‍♀️

We love a long tong 🔥

We’ve been fans of for years, so when they got in touch and offered to gift us one of their products personalised for Father’s Day, I jumped at the chance.

You can personalise their tongs or aprons with a name, a message or even a handwritten note. I got the boys involved, although I had to help them with writing “Dad”, drawing an outline of our Defender and adding their initials because their concentration and handwriting at three years old still leave a lot to be desired.

If you’re thinking of ordering one, don’t leave it until the last minute. Orders are shipped nationwide within 2–4 business days, and they also offer overnight shipping at checkout. So even if you do leave it a little late, there’s still a good chance they’ll get it to you in time.

If you’re a dad, tag your wife so she knows what you want for Father’s Day and you don’t end up with another pair of socks 🔥🍻🧦

When Ben first told me he wanted to buy a Defender, my answer was no.

We already had a Jimny that worked perfectly well. I didn’t want to spend more money on a car. I worried about the maintenance, the breakdowns, and whether it was a completely ridiculous decision.

But after thinking about it for a few weeks, I realised something.

You only get a handful of real vetoes in a marriage, and I wasn’t going to waste one on a car.

So I said yes.

And it turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.

Somewhere along the way, I probably fell more in love with the Defender than Ben did. It’s my soul car.

The thing that’s carried us to some of our favourite places and memories. I love driving it, I love kitting it out, and I love watching our boys grow up in, on top of, and around it.

Has it broken? Absolutely.

Has it stranded us? Once or twice.

Would I do it all again tomorrow?

Without hesitation.

So if your partner has just asked whether they should buy a Defender, the answer is probably yes.

And you probably won’t regret it 💚

Never in a rush when the view is the Drakensberg mountains ⛰️

The best view 🧼

We loved Rossi Pools in Gonarezhou. This thatched lapa was perfected right on the cliffs and each evening we took hot bucket baths overlooking the river and the huge crocodiles 🐊
