Giraffes are browsers which means they feed on leaves and twigs of trees. Their favourite food is the leaves and twigs of acacia trees but they are not picky eaters. Their long tongues help them strip leaves from branches.

As Giraffes say "you don't get no leaves unless you stick your neck out".

The purr-fect place for this member of the cat family to rest after a hearty meal would be somewhere up in a tree to unburden their belly.

Some reasons why leopards like trees:
• To survey their territory.
• Observe prey.
• Store their kills in the trees to protect them from hyenas and vultures.
• Being in trees reduces their vulnerability to predators.
• A resting place to escape the heat.

Like many large mammals, rhinos have a fascinating mating process that is crucial for the survival of their species.

The mating season varies depending on the species and location, but generally I occurs throughout the year.

The courtship involves:
• Vocalizations.
• Scent marking.
• Physical displays as males compete for the attention of the female.

The female undergoes a long gestation period of 15 - 18 months before giving birth to a calf.

• This is a large, robust antelope. They have a brownish- Grey shaggy coat.
• The rump has a characteristic white ring.

• Waterbucks are very dependent on water and will drink daily.

• The bulls have long, forward curved horns.

Crocodiles are cold-blooded & to regulate their body temperature, they would lie in the sun on the riverbanks to warm themselves up.
