"A directing genius, Feinstein is largely one of those more creative directors that adds incredibly detailed directing that ensures any play he gets his hands on turns into an enlightening and entertaining piece of theatrical brilliance." – Joash Sigamoney

"Working with Steven was a truly incredible experience. He taught me to find the ‘truth’ in everything, as well as the unseen. I consider the opportunity to work with Steven again to be invaluable." – Jordan Major

"Steve has grown me as an actor, he is so emotionally evocative that it brings you out of your comfort zone and you explode into something amazing. He is the most helpful and AMAZING Drama Coach and it was a privelige to work with him". – Briony Macleod

"I felt inspired to push myself and have no limitations because Steve has the power to make you see differently and be better in the end. You’ll hate it. But you will be in the part and you’ll see results. You will look forward to seeing him next time." – Amy Jennings

"Steven brought out in my acting something I wasn’t aware existed. He made me think about aspects of myself I hadn’t considered before. The most evident is that he enabled me to be vulnerable, as Steven says ’ Vulnerability makes for the best actors’. I am in the process of learning to completely allow myself to be engulfed by the character and not sensor myself out of fear of being judged. He helped me to understand that making a character realistic isn’t about separating yourself from the character completely but about using your life experiences to make the situation more real for you, inturn more realistic for the audience. Through rehearsals with Steven my love and appreciation for drama has grown immensely. He creates a comfortable, open, non-judgemental space in which it is almost impossible for a young drama student not to flourish. I am unexplainably grateful and even more excited to continue my dramatic arts career after school. Thank-you Steven." – Thato Mokoena

"I totally recommend his workshops!! To discover yourself and your craft there's no better man to guide you and no safer yet challenging journey to take. His classes are limited so dont waste time." - Shelley Efthymiades

“The practical parts of the workshop helped me actualise the thoughts and ideas I have had...There is no ‘spoon feeding.’ Steven is clear, he takes his time explaining things and doesn’t mind repeating. I like that he allows for open discussion...I feel I am doing very important work not only as an actor but also as a human being.” – Lebohang Motaung

“Great subject knowledge and engagement...It’s unlike anything/process I’ve ever been through before. It challenges my comfort zones and forces me to deal with my weaknesses (ego).” – Getmore

“I get tools to work with what scares me the most...Very inspiring and justifies his way of teaching...It really helps me identify personally what and how I have been neglecting myself and that I have so much potential...” – Vanessa Swartz

“The tasks required me to be involved 100% and challenges the way I have been approaching auditions and performances...Steven gives every task time, and makes sure we are all on the same page. Pushes you to really look at the task at hand, understand what you are doing...I am learning something new every time I am here. The examples are practical and I am looking forward to applying them to a professional setting.” – Tshepo Matshaba

“There’s enough space and time for individual review/reflect sharing...Great and engaging. Highly beneficial. Great camaraderie.” – Ilse Hansen

“The guided trance work was amazing and I am looking forward to taking these
techniques to the ‘outside world.’ I felt very comfortable with the material covered and I don’t have reservations about any of the tasks.” – Nj Hourquebie

“Relaxed environment; vibe of conversation; space to make material personal, apply it to personal experience...No complaints, I am very with the facilitation – balanced, informed, sensitive, kind, compassionate and honest. Really interesting; mind blowing; challenging; engaging; tiring but good.” – Megan Reeks

“Very engaging. He clearly has a firm grasp of the subject. He presented it in a manner that I felt was generous and challenging too...Great.” – Mpho Osei-Tutu

I am excited to be offering a 3-Day (Saturdays) Creative and Transformative Workshop programme for ANYONE wanting to explore, express and emotionally process through the Art of Acting, Performance and Theatre, accompanied with holistic and personal development coaching strategies.
Access and give movement, voice, and expression to parts of yourself you're too afraid or ashamed to because our society doesn't know how to respect or encourage these innermost parts of our humanness.
These parts need tools in releasing and processing them or we are governed by them, ruled by the emotions and possible traumas and limiting beliefs and stories we tell ourselves, all whilst carrying the burden, sadness and fears to ourselves. Art, Performance, and Creativity liberate us at the deeply personal levels of ourselves.
Through music, poetry, monologues, improvisation, role-play, and creative writing, participants will be coached and directed into alignment and full self-posession.
Over 3 days, we will play and have a safe space that's been created to house everyone's "mess"!
As part of the workshops, participants will receive 2 FREE coaching sessions to evaluate personal needs, objectives and appropriate facilitation processes.
Spaces are limited! Bookings via WhatsApp or email on 083 394 5496/[email protected]

Trendz Live did a lovely segment on actress Didi Khunou whom I first met and began working with 9 years ago!
I have seen Didi grow from the first time she came to Indigo View and attended the academy training programmes and I was honoured to be interviewed as her acting coach and as someone who has watched her grow from strength to strength for almost a decade.
Thanks to and to Didi for including Indigo View and for acknowledging Indigo as playing a role in her personal and artistic evolution. It means a lot when artists acknowledge the coaches and teachers who aided them on their journey.

I find spending time in nature (and away from screens) is one of the most important practices I have for my own mental health - especially in times of crisis or challenge. Going for walks is where I often do the most processing because it's then that I feel less distracted by the challenges and distractions of life. How often do you take the time to connect to yourself in Nature? Have you noticed a connection between your stress/anxiety levels and the amount of time you spend moving and being outside? How does the one affect the other?
We owe it to ourselves to connect to our innermost parts and for me, walks and connecting to the wind, the trees and the grass anchor me faster than anything in the 'thought realm' does.

Our culture and societal expectations cause enormous levels of stress and anxiety.
I often call it the toxicity of Capitalism – which is not, actually, on your side – and the perpetuating of outdated beliefs, toxic systems that are hierarchical in nature and are driven by corporate greed, fear and competition.
"I am exhausted because I work 12-hour days and it never ends" translates to "my pain is more valid than your pain so don’t you dare ask me to get into my FEELINGS when I don’t have time for such nonsense," which is part of the Egoic identity and/or "I never have time for family, friends or a social life or even to do any of the things outside of work that I would love to do because work is relentless and I need the money, so I can't just leave" translates to “I am drowning and no one seems to care.” The stress of contemporary life is beyond difficult and we need to have our personal practices in place now, more than ever!
What do you do to cope with the stresses and anxieties of every day life? Leave your comments below!

I've had a mixed feeling about this meme doing the rounds... I think it's true, as much as I think it's often not true.
The great thing is that our world is waking up to the nuances of mental health. On the other hand, looking at anything as an "all or nothing" is just too simplistic. People are multilayered, but they are also prone to patterns and patterns over time have names.
Words can be damaging without context but context itself is nuanced and we should be able to see things through a sliding scale, a spectrum and if we're able to see that in ourselves then we can readily see it and then navigate it more mindfully in others.
