A Quick Summer Safety Check for Pet Parents

That pavement may feel fine through your shoes, but what about bare paws? Place the back of your hand on the surface for seven seconds—if it is uncomfortable for you, keep your fur-baby off it.

☀️ Choose cooler times for walks, and keep clean drinking water and a shady resting spot within easy reach. Never leave a pet inside a parked car, not even briefly or with the windows open.

Know the warning signs of overheating: heavy panting, excessive drooling, vomiting, weakness, confusion or collapse. Move your pet to shade, start cooling them with cool rather than ice-cold water, and contact a vet urgently.

Kenya Airways is fast becoming one of the airlines we love watching in the animal-travel space. Their commitment to the love, care and safe handling of animals, exceptionally clean facilities and dedicated animal reception services really stand out. 🐾✨
