A good read: Two Feeding Philosophies. One Goal. Big Carp.

When it comes to specimen carp fishing, most anglers fall into one of two camps…

“Chum and They Will Come”
This method is all about creating a feeding area that carp simply can’t ignore. By introducing a generous amount of bait over time, you build confidence, attract multiple fish, and encourage them to stay in the area longer. It’s a great strategy for longer sessions and waters where you know carp are actively moving through.

Benefits:
✅ Builds fish confidence
✅ Keeps carp feeding for longer
✅ Can attract multiple fish into the swim
✅ Excellent for long sessions

🐭 “The Mousetrap”
Less is more. This approach relies on a small, precise amount of highly attractive bait placed around your hookbait. The idea is to create just enough temptation for a carp to make a mistake without filling it up. It’s ideal when fish are pressured, cautious, or you’re fishing shorter sessions.

Benefits:
✅ Great for wary or pressured carp
✅ Reduces the chance of overfeeding
✅ Perfect for short sessions
✅ Can produce quick bites

There isn’t a right or wrong answer—both methods catch incredible fish. The key is knowing when to use each one.
