In our latest blog, we rummage around our saddlebags to find exactly what makes the Wild Coast different from everywhere else.
But even after dedicating 800 words to the subject, we’re still struggling to put our finger on exactly what makes it so special.
Perhaps it’s that the Wild Coast is more than the sum of its parts.

Big isn’t always better. But sometimes it is.
Our bigger horses pull their own considerable weight in the herd, taking on the jobs that require a little more horsepower and proving that, sometimes, size really does matter.
And just because you’re big doesn’t mean you can’t keep up.
You just make it look a little more impressive. 💪 🐴

Sometimes, it looks like this.
A quiet morning. A nose searching for treats. A quick nap in the morning sun. Checking that everyone is happy, healthy and ready for the next adventure.

Want to know what a Working Riding Holiday really feels like? Well, buckle up and I’ll show you. 🐴
You get to do the things that are technically supposed to be work, but somehow feel far too much like fun to call them that.
Take getting the young horses used to the waves. It’s an important part of their training, but when you’re riding into the sea, splashing in the waves and feeling them gain confidence, “work” is hardly the word that comes to mind. 🌊
Even schooling is a little different here. There are no endless circles just for the sake of it. Instead, you might find yourself navigating an obstacle course, working on responsiveness, balance and confidence, and hopefully having a pretty good time while you’re at it.
And that’s really the thing about a Working Riding Holiday. You’re here to work with the horses, learn and get involved in their training and care. But when you’re doing it somewhere as wild and beautiful as the Wild Coast, it doesn’t take much for work to start feeling like play. 🌿🐴

A riding holiday may not be all about the horses, but they are definitely at the heart of it. 🐴
And getting the right horse and rider together is what makes the holiday unforgettable. It’s about finding the right match in ability, personality, pace and then the little things that turn a partnership into a love affair.
