🚨 Urgent Transport Update 🚨
Northern Cape cares for your safety. The N1 at Worcester is closed until further notice, with several passes also affected.

👉 Travelers to Cape Town are advised to stop safely and rest until direct routes reopen.
👉 If travel tonight is unavoidable, use extreme caution on these alternatives:

Victoria West → R63/R67 via Loxton–Fraserburg–Williston–Calvinia–Nieuwoudtville–Vanrhynsdorp → N7

Beaufort West → R381 same route to N7

Leeu Gamka → R353 same route to N7

Touws Rivier/Kleinstraat → R318 via Montagu–Ashton → N2 (narrow road, limited shoulders)

🌄 Scenic Alternative: Consider the Forgotten Highway route to Cape Town. Beyond being a safer diversion, it offers breathtaking Northern Cape landscapes and authentic tourism experiences along the way.

⚠️ Note: Cellular signal may be limited in rural areas. Drive carefully and only use these routes as a last resort.
