At Safari Giants, we believe that responsible travel extends far beyond the guest experience. That's why we choose to partner with suppliers who share our commitment to conservation, community empowerment and protecting Africa's wild places for future generations.

One such partner is whose conservation initiatives support projects that make a meaningful difference on the ground.

Among them are the Green Griffons, an inspiring all-female ranger unit based in the Mkambati Nature Reserve on South Africa's Wild Coast. This remarkable all-female ranger unit is helping to redefine conservation. Recruited from local Mpondo communities, the Green Griffons patrol both land and sea, remove snares, monitor wildlife and help safeguard one of South Africa's most precious natural landscapes.

What makes their story so powerful is that it extends far beyond wildlife conservation. It is about empowering women, creating opportunities within local communities and fostering a new generation of environmental custodians.

The future of conservation lies not only in protecting wild places, but in investing in the people who call them home.

To the women of the Green Griffons: thank you for the vital work you do every day!

Tomorrow is World Environment Day.

Every journey leaves a footprint.
The question is: what kind?

For us, travel is about more than discovering wild places, it's about helping to protect them.
A portion of every tour we operate supports conservation organisations working to safeguard Africa's wildlife and wilderness for future generations.

Because the greatest journeys should leave a positive impact.
Travel that gives back. 🐾

One of the most important parts of planning a safari is matching the experience, and especially the lodge, to our guests travelling.

The right property can completely shape how a journey feels.

For some, it’s about deep wilderness and adventure. For others, it’s calm, atmosphere, thoughtful design, or simply finding a place that allows people to slow down and reconnect.

For all our curated journeys, creating that balance is especially important, and hearing feedback like this always reminds us why those details matter so much:

“So, the lodge is a home run, I could live here! I love the old-fashioned style, nature-immersive yet refined luxury atmosphere. It is calm, elegant and feels out of time.”

“We LOVE this lodge - it is magnificent!”

“You recognized immediately what we were looking for in our trip and it was perfectly planned.”

Thoughtfully pairing people with places remains one of the most rewarding aspects of what we do.

Another journey unfolding exactly as it was meant to...

This recent Zimbabwe itinerary was specially designed for two sisters living on opposite ends of the world, with the brief to create the perfect balance of adventure, wildlife, beautiful experiences, and most importantly; meaningful time together.

From golden evenings on the Zambezi to unforgettable days in Hwange, it was a reminder that a few carefully curated days can create memories that last a lifetime.

“Everything was incredible, the experience was superb. Thank you for the perfect 5-day itinerary.” ✨

There’s nothing we love more than knowing a journey felt seamless, memorable, and deeply special.

Packing for the Congo rainforest is a little different to packing for a traditional safari.

Think humid forests, muddy baĂŻs, river crossings, and low-light gorilla trekking conditions. This is where lightweight, quick-drying layers are essential and every pound counts with the 33 pound (15kg) luggage limit on internal flights to Odzala-Kokoua National Park.

Soft-sided luggage is highly recommended, and the Andes Bag from is pretty much perfect for this kind of adventure; practical, durable, and ideal for remote safari travel.

What to pack:
* Long-sleeve quick-dry shirts
* Lightweight long pants
* Closed-toe walking shoes
* Old running shoes/water shoes for river activities
* Rain jacket
* Swimsuit
* Sun hat & sunglasses
* Binoculars
* Insect repellent
* Dry bags for camera gear
* Spare batteries & memory cards
* Headlamp or flashlight

And always keep essentials + 2 days of clothing in your carry-on bag as luggage sometimes goes on its own adventure.

Photographers: no flash photography is permitted during gorilla encounters, so low-light gear is highly recommended

Every safari terrain is different, and we tailor our packing advice accordingly.

A few posts back, we shared glimpses of several destinations currently capturing our imagination, leaving a little room for curiosity.
Some journeys deserve a slower introduction.
The first is Morocco.

A country of contrasts, where ancient medinas, vast desert landscapes, mountain passes, and coastal hideaways come together in a way that feels both richly layered and deeply atmospheric.

It’s a destination that invites slower exploration ; wandering through quiet riads, long lunches beneath olive trees, early mornings in the desert, and the kind of travel that lingers long after returning home.

Over the coming months, we’ll be exploring Morocco more closely as part of our evolving collection of carefully curated journeys.

Kenya offers no shortage of extraordinary places, but where you choose to stay shapes the entire experience.

More than ever, thoughtful travel is about seeking out spaces that still feel intimate, quiet, and deeply connected to the landscape around them.

Places where wildlife moves freely, where privacy is preserved, and where the experience feels less observed and more immersed.

Ol Jogi Wildlife Conservancy is one of those rare places.

A private conservancy defined not by spectacle, but by space, conservation, and a sense of complete exclusivity in the wild.

There’s always something exciting about discovering what’s next.

Our recent time at We Are Africa in Cape Town was filled with inspiring conversations, new partnerships, and fresh ideas; all centered around creating more meaningful, immersive journeys across the continent.

One of the highlights?
Preparing for an upcoming exploratory journey to Republic of the Congo next month, a destination that has long intrigued us for its remote wilderness, extraordinary biodiversity, and sense of true discovery.

We’re looking forward to experiencing it firsthand, and sharing more along the way!

Interior designer of the savannah, hard at work.

Superb starlings, found in East Africa, don’t just build nests and raise their chicks alone. They raise their young as a group, with multiple adults helping to feed and protect each chick. It's a rare example of complex social structure in birds.

A team effort, down to the very last blade of grass!
