Cosmos bipinnatus, native to Mexico, brought in to South Africa in contaminated horsefeed from Argentina during the Anglo-Boer war.
The word cosmos comes from the Greek word kosmos meaning; ' beauty and harmony of the universe!'. Very suitable name for these lovely, colorful daisy like flowers! Mostly seen in March towards Easter ,especially in the highveld grasslands! We are lucky to be based there and have been spoiled with tons of cosmos!😊🌸🌸🇿🇦🙏

It has been a while but we are still here exploring new camps and road and beautiful places to take our guests! Hopefully our overseas friends will soon be able to travel this beautiful country! Today we stay at one of the few camps we have not stayed over yet, Berg en Dal.What a beautiful camp! We will add it to the list of one of our favorite camps!😉😀🐘🦓🦒🌍🌿🍀🙏

Dichrostachys cinerea, the Latin name commonly known as Sickle bush, Christmas Kalahari tree, Bell mimosa and Chinese lantern tree. I like the name the Kalahari Christmas tree, specially this time of year.
It is a tree that provides for a lot of food for many animals and even humans and has a lot of medicinal uses! It is used and important for soil conservation but despite this, it is listed on the global invasive species database.

Summer is here and there are youngsters and baby's everywhere in the bush ! Yes people say sightings are better in the winter, but in summer it is really beautiful to see there is enough food for everyone!😃🌿☘️🍃🙏
