We are excited to be hosting the first ever cultural hands-on experience at Disaneng Campsite. No better place to host this but at our campsite right on the banks of the majestic Disaneng Dam. No better time to host than September, Heritage and Tourism month...π€πΎπΏπ¦
So what is Go Kgapa/Go Kgapha its the traditional practice of using cow dung to plaster and finish household floors and/walls.
Ithute Go Kgapa is designed to revive this indigenous practice and create an opportunity for our communities, particularly women and young girls to learn, practise and appreciate a skill passed down by previous generations.
The initiative aims to:
* Preserve Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS) and traditional skills.
*Connect generations by transferring knowledge from elders to younger people.
*Promote Setswana heritage and culture through practical participation.
*Create opportunities for women and youth to learn a practical, potentially income-generating skill.
*Position Disaneng Village and Disaneng Dam as a living heritage and cultural tourism destination.
We can NEVER do this alone, so we are delighted to announce that our own Traditional Authority, Segosi, Batlharo Boo Tokwana Ba Ga Masibi led by Kgosi Mogakolodi Masibi and Mme Motshidisi Masibi-Madumo will grace the occasion with their presence. We are humbled by their support.ππΎ
We are also super- excited that we received enormous support from our Tourism stakeholders who raised their hands and said...'What a beautiful heritage/ cultural initiative...we are in'...
