VISITING SOUTH AFRICA THIS SEPTEMBER?

You’re here during Heritage Month; a time to celebrate the incredible diversity of cultures, languages, traditions and histories that make South Africa the Rainbow Nation.

Our heritage has been shaped by many different communities and influences over thousands of years, and it continues to live on in the way we speak, eat, celebrate, tell stories and connect with the land around us.

So this September, don’t just visit South Africa.
Experience its living heritage.

45 seconds inside a baby baboon’s survival school. 🐒

This little chacma baboon was only a few days old when we found him in the Kruger National Park.

And you can tell just how young he is. He could barely walk properly, constantly losing his balance and tumbling back towards Mum.

But watch what happens when another baboon approaches. 👀

He hesitates. He keeps his distance. And Mum immediately pulls him close.

For a newborn baboon, the troop is not simply a group of friends. It is a complex social world he will spend years learning to navigate. Right now, he is still tiny, unsteady and completely dependent on Mum, so she keeps him close while he carefully watches what is happening around him.

For now, he doesn’t need to be part of the action. He needs to watch it. Who approaches whom, who keeps their distance, how the adults interact and when Mum steps in. Little by little, these observations will help him learn the social dynamics of the troop, while Mum gives him the protection he needs to stay close and keep learning.

Elephants: nature’s original mud-mask enthusiasts. 🐘😂

But this isn’t just playtime. When elephants cover themselves in mud, they’re actually giving themselves some pretty clever natural protection:

🪰 Insect repellent: A layer of dried mud helps keep biting insects at bay.
☀️ Natural sunblock: Mud acts as a protective barrier against the harsh African sun.
💦 Cooling off: Wet mud helps cool their skin and can provide relief from the heat.

So while it looks like an elephant spa day, there’s a lot more going on beneath the mud!

There’s something special about seeing Africa through your children’s eyes. 🦁

The first elephant. The excitement of spotting fresh lion tracks. The moment a giraffe strolls past just metres away. These are the memories that stay with a family long after the holiday ends.

We’re incredibly grateful for families like Christina’s who trust us to be part of their adventure. Thank you for your kind words!

If you’re dreaming about a family holiday that’s a little different from the ordinary, we’d love to help you experience the magic of Kruger together.

Received an exquisite moment with Kruger royalty today, the mighty lions. 👑🦁

The eye contact was unforgettable... and the soft snarls as they walked past our vehicle were equal parts hypnotising and humbling.

Nature doesn’t owe us a show. Every encounter is a privilege.
A gentle reminder that out here, we’re always in their world.
