Just a little reminder that the wild doesn’t stop once you get back to camp… 👀🐍

The other day at Skukuza Restaurant, we noticed something unusual tucked inside one of the chairs… this beautiful Spotted Bush Snake quietly hiding out in the shade!

It’s always such a special sighting because, despite there being over 50 snake species in the Kruger, encounters like this are actually pretty rare. Snakes are incredibly secretive and usually want absolutely nothing to do with people.

This particular little guy isn’t venomous, but like most wild animals, it will defend itself if threatened; and that bite can still be pretty nasty!

Safe to say… from the game drives to the rest camps, you never quite know what the Kruger is going to surprise you with next 🌿

Be honest… would you stay calm if you spotted one of these right next to your chair? 😅

No matter how much time you spend in the African bush, wildlife behaviour can still completely catch you off guard. That’s exactly what happened during yesterday’s unforgettable safari sighting.

While a lioness peacefully enjoyed what was left of a carcass, these two male lions suddenly rushed in and aggressively went after her, seemingly unhappy about something. There was no obvious warning and no clear explanation… just raw, unpredictable lion behaviour unfolding right in front of us.

Moments like this are a powerful reminder that nature doesn’t follow a script. Wild animals are instinctive, unpredictable, and constantly responding to dynamics we may never fully understand.

This intense lion sighting was one of those once-in-a-lifetime African safari moments that reminds us why the Kruger National Park is one of the greatest wildlife destinations on Earth. 🦁🔥

No matter how big they get, they never really stop being mom’s babies 🦁❤️

A lioness does far more than simply raise her cubs.
She protects them, teaches them, disciplines them, comforts them, feeds them, and slowly prepares them for the world ahead, all while carrying the weight of the pride on her shoulders.

And somehow, even when they’re nearly fully grown, they still come back to walk beside her and play like cubs again.

The wild has a beautiful way of reminding us just how important mothers are.
Their presence shapes confidence, safety, resilience, and home in ways we often only fully understand later in life.

To the moms who guide, nurture, protect, sacrifice, and love so deeply, thank you.

Happy Mother’s Day from the bushveld 🌿
