Spring is in the air and Darling is in full bloom🌸

The wildflowers are putting on a beautiful display, with pops of colour stretching across the countryside and along the roadsides. It’s the perfect excuse for a spring drive - take the scenic route, get out of the city and enjoy the season at its most colourful.

If you’ve been waiting for wildflower season, this is your sign to head to Darling🌼💛

Tourism Month is officially underway🌿 Yesterday, we joined tourism stakeholders and partners in Goedverwacht for the Western Cape Tourism Month Launch and the introduction of the Green Piketberg Route 366.

The launch put a spotlight on community-based tourism and the opportunities it can create for local people and businesses, showcasing everything from local produce and community gardens to farm-to-table experiences and more.

This year’s theme, “Planting the Future of Tourism,” was certainly fitting - highlighting how tourism can support communities, celebrate local heritage and create value beyond the visitor experience🌱

It was great to be part of the launch and connect with fellow tourism stakeholders as we head into Tourism Month💙

Riebeek Kasteel is calling…and it involves a lot of olives🫒😉 The Swartland Olive Festival brings together everything we love about a festival weekend - exceptional olive and olive oil tastings, w**e, live music, chefs in action and an artisanal market, all happening in the heart of Riebeek Kasteel🙌

And there’s even more to look forward to, with the Friday Night Street Party kicking things off before a full weekend of tasting, exploring, music and good times🕺

If you’ve been looking for an excuse to head to the Swartland, this is a pretty good one🫒🍷
