From a fledgling beginning, one small bus and one lone passenger in 1975 – the company now transports about 20 000 passengers a year. Twenty years ago the company only supplied a twice, weekly service to Durban. We also offer private charters for groups to suit clients needs. Marian de Deugd joined the company, which was started by Sheila Lander, as a bus driver in 1986. Marian worked her way up to administration manager and then took over the business in 1991 when Sheila left the coast.

It has come to our attention that a company is improperly using our name on their website. We want to make it unequivocally clear: Margate Coach and Southern Shuttle are separate entities with no business affiliation.
