Magic warm summer weather has arrived. The October fest at Atlantic Beach Country Club was sun and fun filled. It beat the heck out of Munich this time of year. Oh yes, and then there was the rugby test, between the old traditional rivals (Kiwi's & Springboks) New Zealand & South Africa, for those of us that do not follow rugby, and it was a contest of note. Sore throats all round, and much beer to quench the most persistent thirst ! It has been steady on the touring side of day tours and several wine farms in the Swartland and the Durbanville were visited, and the new seasons offerings tested tasted and bought. I watch but did not participate, as I am the dedicated driver (not drinker). It appears as we are heading for a rather busy summer season, so I would recommend that you all please let your visitors know to book early and in advance, to avoid disappointment. It is a strange part of the world we reside in. strange ,lovely and poetic. Words like "tinkery", "koetshuis" "pajama bush" "Rhebokskloof" "Nitida" "Black Pearl" "Ruitersvlei" "Sydelberg" "Darling" "Perdeberg" "Havana Hills" and "Marras"the the list goes on and on without end.
What ties all these words together, is a product that is endemic and loved locally and world wide. ?? Wine off course. Good quality and highly enjoyable.

POSTBERG NATURE RESERVE, SOUTH AFRICA

The Postberg Nature Reserve is situated within the West Coast National Park in South Africa's Western Cape province, less than an hour’s drive from the city of Cape Town. It is closed for most of the year, but is opened to the public during spring (August – September) where one can view the exceptional carpet of wildflowers in the reserve.
