Speaking at the WRSA Congress at the CSIR in Pretoria, Richard York, CEO of Wildlife Ranching South Africa (WRSA), urged wildlife ranchers not to price local hunters out of the market.
York welcomed renewed confidence in the wildlife market but reminded delegates of the important role local hunters played in supporting the industry during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He emphasised that local hunters provide consistent demand and return to game farms year after year. As wildlife breeding becomes more financially attractive, he encouraged ranchers not to overlook these established relationships and to continue supporting the local hunting market.
