We are adventure. And also... slightly bruised. 🏹😅
This year’s annual site visit to ATKV ATKV-Drakensville was next level! Our boss, Ronel Harris, usually does these checks solo to ensure everything’s in tip-top shape for our school tours — but this time, Dani and I tagged along… for quality control purposes, of course. 😏
We abseiled, ziplined across the dam, tackled the high ropes (and by tackled, I mean clung for dear life), and released our inner Katniss during archery — where I hit a bullseye by what can only be described as divine intervention. 🎯
We played paintball (I got slayed), tested our aim with air rifles, and I absolutely did not conquer the climbing wall. But we were the first to test the brand-new adventure blob, which was basically like being yeeted into orbit with graceless style (is that a thing?).
Dani nailed the trapeze like a circus pro, and I screamed my way through the King Swing at All Out Adventures. We capped it all off with a cultural stop at the Basotho Village and a long, reflective soak in the hot pool. 🛁
At Outdoor Environmental Education Africa, we believe in fun, learning, and safety — and we’d never expect our learners to do something we wouldn’t try ourselves (even if it involves gravity, mild panic, and a very large swing).
🌟 Huge shout-out to the ATKV-Drakensville team for their gracious hospitality and unflappable patience — even when we were hanging upside down, flailing, or requesting “just one more photo.” You made an epic experience even better!
