Day two of our Winter in Paarl journey started slowly at , which is exactly how a morning in the winelands should begin. Breakfast at Savoye, fires going, glass doors framing the winter outside and everyone easing back into it after a very full first round of eating, tasting and talking đź’•
From there, we made our way to for a clay workshop with , hosted at the Manor House. There is something very humbling about realising your hands may not be as artistic as your imagination, but that is part of the fun. Clay, paint, coffee, a few creative risks and a room full of women fully committed to making something with their own hands. The pieces serve as a little reminder of the weekend, which we think is a rather lovely way to take Paarl home with you 🪴
After that, it was time to settle into a guided tasting at Nederburg and spend a bit of time with one of the most recognisable names in our region. Their history is part of Paarl’s story, and it was special to share that with guests who had already seen so many different sides of the route in such a short space of time.
We ended the itinerary with lunch at The Manor, with a final selection of Paarl Wine Route member wines on the table from , and . A last chance to taste, ask questions, compare favourites and enjoy our time together before everyone headed back home ❤️🍷
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this Winter in Paarl experience. Day one gave us tea, wine, brandy, pasta, fireplaces with day two showing off our creativity, culinary flair and collaboration - a very strong case for making Paarl your next winter escape.
