Step into the story of Parys with a visit to the iconic "Hangbrug". Construction began in May 1914, and after delays caused by the First World War, this much-loved landmark officially opened to the public in 1919.

Afridome Musiekfees 2026 | Celebrating Parys 150

Join us from 29 to 31 May 2026 for an unforgettable weekend of music, community and celebration at the Afridome in Parys. As part of the Parys 150 festivities, this exciting festival brings together some of South Africa’s favourite artists for three days of entertainment, delicious food and family fun.

Friday, 29 May | Boeremusiek & Langarm Dans
Kick off the festival with the lively sounds of Kroonwild and a festive evening of dancing.

Saturday, 30 May | Main Music Festival
Enjoy a full day of performances by top artists including AK September, André van der Rheede, Wilmari, Rick Charritt, Lianie May, Etha, Garner Nel, Candy Benson, Leroy Heunis, Nico Booijse, Amor Vittone, DJ Cristo and many more.

Sunday, 31 May | Gospel & Country Festival
Be inspired by uplifting Gospel performances featuring Renier, Chris Coetzer, Jeanri Mellanby and Nico Booijse, followed by a country showcase with artists such as Suzette Jacobs, Anne-Marie, Lee Vaughn, Michael Ray Clark, John Morland, Cecilia Jane, Lion Jay and Landee.

The festival also features food stalls, exhibitors, a beer garden, children’s entertainment, pony rides, a petting zoo and plenty of activities for the whole family.

From flour to future…

The historic Parys Roller Milling building at 47 Philip Street has been part of the town’s story for generations. Once a bustling hub for farmers, grain and community, this iconic landmark is now stepping into an exciting new chapter.

Currently under renovation, the old mill is being transformed into Die Meule, a beautiful new events venue where history and fresh beginnings will meet.

Already open on the same premises is Die Studio, offering dance, pilates and grappling in a space where movement and community continue to thrive.

Parys has always known how to honour its past while embracing what’s next, and this landmark is proof of that.
