We were very fortunate on our last walk...
On our way to the walking area, we encountered a pride of lions next to the road, rhino's on the road and a herd of elephants.
As we pulled up to our departure point, we were welcomed with 5 rhino!! What a way to start the walk!
While on foot we encountered some more rhino, as well as a herd of elephants.
The best way to explore the Pilanesberg is on foot.

Yesterdays walk started off very windy and I though the animals will be hiding to escape the fresh breeze. I was pleasantly surprise with 3 different white rhino, some giraffe, impala, and the extremely rare Black Rhino. Not one but 2 different sightings!!
To top it all off we had some great vocalizing of lions, but they were not so keen on showing themselves.
Time well spent.

What a great walk we had.
Started with an elephant herd roadblock on the way to our hiking area is always a great start to the morning.
With a fresh summer breeze, we started our walk.
We managed to find 9 White Rhino, plenty of giraffe, zebra and wildebeest.
After our rest break we were pleasantly surprised with a lioness that have walked over our tracks, while we were taking a break. Even though we haven't found her, just the thrill and excitement knowing she is close was more than enough to wake up your senses.

What a wonderful hiking trail we had this past week.
Being able to watch the sunrise while on foot is probably one of the best feelings.
We managed to see plenty of zebra, wildebeest, impala and giraffe, and was spoilt with some great white rhino sightings.
When you visit Black Rhino Reserve book your walk to avoid disappointment.

This time of year is one of the greatest times to be out on foot.
With the arrival of spring, there are also so many different plants flowering.
While doing a couple of walks this week we not only experienced the beauty of Pilanesberg, but we were also fortunate enough to find the elusive Black Rhino on two of your walks. Giraffe with small calves, kudu, impala and so many different bird species.

What a great walk we had this weekend with guests from . We had a cool, overcast day which made the summer temperatures bearable. Seeing 3 Black Rhinos, and watching the mother and calf playing with each other was truly priceless. White Rhino, elephant and some impala and zebra also added to the African scenery. What a way to enjoy nature.
