Greetings from Plett !
It has been a long, wet and windy winter but that’s behind us now and we are enjoying the spring weather whilst looking forward to SUMMER.
The town council has worked hard to make sure that our beaches are in pristine condition and 4 of our Beaches have been awarded the coveted Blue Flag Status
• Keurbooms Beach
• Robberg 5 Beach
• Nature’s Valley Beach
• Lookout Beach
A Blue Flag is an international award given to beaches that meet excellence in the areas of safety, cleanliness, amenities and environmental awareness.
The strict criteria of the programme are set by the international coordinators of the Blue Flag campaign in Europe, the FEE (Foundation of Environmental Education).
Plett Winelands
As the Estates are gearing up for summer with lots of new lunch and tasting opportunities feel free to contact us for the latest information when you get here.
The author recently gave up his much needed weekend for you, to do market research on the local WINERIES. I was assisted by the fact that they had all gathered at the Plett Wine Festival. Dedicated sampling of the local wines was done and whilst I may have a preference to red wine I must admit some excellent whites are produced in and around Plett never mind the local “Bubbly” (you try and pronounce Method Cape Clasique after some serious tasting)When you are next in Plett do take the opportunity to visit our local wine estates of which we have 9 producing and 7 in development at the moment.
Eating Out in Plett
We have updated the list of restaurants together with their contact details and location and this list is available on our website, www.bayholidays.co.za
If you do not have a favourite or would like to try something new just ask us and we will be glad to assist. We are willing to share our intimate knowledge of the local eateries.
Why not book your favourite restaurants now and avoid disappointment as they will fill up quickly and arriving without reservation leads to disappointment and or long long waiting times.
Fun in the sun…
This is going to be a fun filled festive season for every one as it is packed with events and things to do.
Things we do not even have to mention is the hiking or running trails, the Saturday Harkerville market where all local good and eats can be enjoyed, Fishing spots, our fabulous Golf courses, water sports, Adventure land (aka, heaven for kids), the Ocean sailing charters, Horse trails, The Barns theatre, well the list is way too long to mention all, but you can be sure to be entertained, young and … matured.
Our Polo season also kicks off on the 7th of December with the 6 goal tournament and ending on the 29th of December with the international match, there is even a Plett Polo Kids Clinic on the 12th – 14th December.
May we ask you to let us know as soon as possible when you will be arriving for your holiday, we are busy with our planning for the December season and we will be busy so the more notice we have of your arrival the better we can plan.
Please contact us if need more information and please have a look at our website, www.bayholidays.co.za for our list of services.
Remember that CEM Air now flies to Plett from Cape Town and Johannesburg and their schedule is expanding to meet the demand. It’s fast and convenient
Look forward to seeing you all in Plett
