Thank You Pbcpa Plettenberg Bay Crime Prevention Association 082 251 8134 for your commitment to a safe Plettenberg Bay.
The goodness and grace of our community is just legendary, whenever the need for assistance arise the community pull together and deliver, time and time again. The care for their 4-legged fur babies is renowned, their passion for the aged is heartwarming and the taking of hands in others hour of need is extraordinary.
The PBCPA groups are linked to the control room and to armed response officers, these groups are primarily for reports of suspicious behaviour in the residential areas, medical emergencies, and security/crime related incidents. There are specific groups for lost/wandering around pets, we will send a link to join that group. Power failures have a security impact, the control room will report general power failures and progress reports. *These groups are not chat groups ,the chitchat on the groups are resulting in the groups not being taken as a priority by the control room and the responders, it is impacting on the responses times, and it could lead to slow/no response is case of real emergencies*. Sharing is caring, if there is an interesting article or related post to crime prevention etc., please send Ina 0832711142 for approval, we value your input and participation.
We strongly recommend that house owners should NOT tolerate any begging at their premisses, PLEASE do not open your gate or door to beggars, report loiterers/beggars immediately. Everybody first response to beggars is to listen and lending a helping hand BUT beggars intend is mostly to deter you to give others time to scan your property. This morning a good-hearted man allowed a beggar to deter him whilst the other jumped the perimeter wall and start assaulting house owner to gain entrance into the house. Fortunately, his partner pulled him back into the house and shut the door and alerted responders. The area was flooded with by security responders & MLE & SAPS, both suspects was apprehended and the assault weapon was recovered. The gentleman was admitted to hospital and is stable.
Although we are staying in one of the safest towns in South Africa, we should not let our guard down, stay alert and be crime wise
Fantastic response to the incident, the cohesion amongst responders outstanding, I am incredibly proud to be part of Bitou’s security and emergency partners. Well, done!!
Yours in security
