The ground squirrel found in Namibia is a terrestrial creature that often lives together with Suricates in a mutually beneficial symbiosis mostly towards anti-predator behaviour and are another true desert animal - never having to drink water in their entire lives!

Twyfelfontein or 'doubtful spring' in Damaraland, Namibia has some of the best rock engravings anywhere in the world, some up to 8000 years old. The area is characterized by the sandstone formations - this being the lions jaws!

Its normally a good idea to respect the local signage! I had 2 couples on this safari and the 2 guys went into the dark to relieve themselves...I said dont go far but they did. A lion roared 20 metres away from them...and they wet themselves! No problems listening after that!
