Found this beautiful bluebottle washed up that had the longest te****le I have ever seen with plough snails finding it a meal.
Google says bluebottles come in both “left-sided” and “right-sided” variations. A left-sided Bluebottle drifts rightward from the direction the wind blows, whereas a right-sided one drifts leftward. This results in a more even distribution of these animals throughout the oceans. If a Bluebottle encounters danger or threats when floating on the surface, it can deflate its sails (the floating bit) and go into submarine mode for a while. The gas filled bladder flops over on alternate sides to prevent it drying out every 3 minutes. Bluebottle stings use a different chemical to jellyfish stings, so do NOT pour vinegar on the wound as this increases the toxic effects . After removing any bits of te****le from your skin (not with fingers) use salt water to clean the wound (or liquor) and bicard when you get home.
