🛞 Have You Heard of R/T Tyres? 🛞

Move over ATs and MTs—there is a new player in town, and it is completely changing the 4x4 game in South Africa. 🇿🇦

Meet the Rugged Terrain (R/T), also known as the Hybrid tyre.
If you’ve ever wished your All-Terrains looked meaner, or wished your Mud-Terrains were quieter on the N1, this tyre was built for you. It bridges the gap between the two traditional choices.

🧬 How Does an R/T Work?
In the center: It has tight, closely spaced tread blocks like an AT. This keeps the tyre quiet on tarmac and stable on high-speed gravel tracks.
On the shoulders: It features massive, chunky lugs and sidewall biting edges like an MT. This gives you chunking power in bushveld mud and protection against sharp rocks.

The recent floods across parts of the Eastern and Western Cape have left many campsites, lodges, farm stays and tourism destinations badly damaged. Roads washed away, infrastructure destroyed, and many small tourism businesses have taken a massive knock.

But here’s the thing… these places are more than just campsites.

They are family businesses. They are local jobs. They are the fuel stations, farm stalls, guides, shop owners and communities that depend on tourism to survive.

When the roads are repaired and the camps reopen, let’s not forget them.

Instead of cancelling future adventures completely, let’s make a plan to support these areas again when it’s safe and ready. Book that camping weekend. Do that 4x4 trip. Buy wood from the local farm stall. Have coffee at the small-town café. Every visitor helps rebuild livelihoods.

The outdoor community has always stood together — and now is the time to do it again.
