Day 2: While the hike may not have been a walk in the park, there was so much to be grateful for. The sun was out, the views were nothing short of spectacular and we were afforded an opportunity to do what we love, which is to hike.

We couldn't figure the map out and to a certain extend got frustrated. We then decided to just go with it which turned out to be fun. The spirit of working together as a team was what kept us going. We had to carry each other to the end.

While we may have planned for things to the tier, we had challenges and not all went according to plan. We embraced the changes and adapted. We came, we saw, we hiked, we each got to take away from the experience of the journey.

Day one of our two-day hike was what we called a trial run - finding our feet and familiarising ourselves with the area and enjoying ourselves.

The hike was short given there were no hectic climbs, just flat terrains and serene surroundings. The spirits were high, the weather permitting, taking in all the bush air.

It was also preparation for what was awaiting us the following day.
