Where nearly 2 million hectares of unrivalled diversity of life forms fuses with historical and archaeological sights - this is real Africa.

The world-renowned Kruger National Park offers a wildlife experience that ranks with the best in Africa. Established in 1898 to protect the wildlife of the South African Lowveld.

Truly a flagship of the South African national parks, Kruger is home to an impressive number of species: 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals. Man's interaction with the Lowveld environment over many centuries - from bushman rock paintings to majestic archaelogical sites like Masorini and Thulamela - is very evident in the Kruger National Park. These treasures represent the cultures, persons and events that played a role in the history of the Kruger National Park and are conserved along with the park's natural assets.

Sossusvlei is a salt and clay pan surrounded by high red dunes, located in the southern part of the Namib Desert, in the Namib-Naukluft National Park of Namibia. The name "Sossusvlei" is of mixed origin and roughly means "dead-end marsh". "Vlei" is the Afrikaans word for "marsh", while "sossus" is Nama for "no return" or "dead end". Sossusvlei owes this name to the fact that it is an endorheic drainage basin (drainage basin without outflows) for the ephemeral Tsauchab River.

Shark Cage diving is carried out throughout the year, weather dependent. The best time of the year for White shark diving in Gansbaai is from April to September. Four to five sharks are usually encountered in a day with as many as 18 sharks having been encountered on some outings. Great white sharks prefer a diet of game fish and from May to October the latter are in abundance. Great Whites are also known to feed on seals and carrion. October to December, being the pupping season for some 30 000 seals on Geyser Island, results in an ample food supply of drowned pups in the surrounding coastal waters. Although Great Whites may be sighted during low season, the abundance of food in the area makes luring to the boat more difficult.

Sandwich Harbour is a part of the Namib Naukluft Park many have heard of, but few have ever visited. Giant sand dunes run straight into the ocean, creating breathtaking sceneries and a unique off-road driving experience. The area is named after a ship called "Sandwich", the first boat to ever be recorded to have set anchor in Sandwich Harbour, around 1790.

Founded in 1990, the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CFF)'s mission is to be the internationally recognized centre of excellence in the conservation of cheetahs left in the world. CFF's International Research and Education Centre is based in Namibia, near Otjiwarongo.

CFF's stance is that understanding the cheetah's biology and ecology is essential to stabilise the population and manage its sustainability for the future. Its strategy to save the wild cheetah is a three-pronged process of research, conservation and education, beginning with long-term studies to understand and monitor the factors affecting the cheetah's survival.;
