Vrae wat ek ook baie kry, hoe beskerm ek myself teen slange as ek gaan kamp of in veld gaan stap.

Kies jou kamp plek reg. Lang gras, bosse ens naby kamp plek gee weg kruip plek vir slange. Oop plat plek perfek.

As jy teen n rivier, dam kamp wees op die uitkyk vir die outjies. Onthou daar paddas en ander prooi, wat hul voor kom jag.

As jy slang sien, moenie rambo raak, slang jaag en met klippe gooi, want waar gaan kruip hy weg? In jou 4x4 of jou tent,as hy nie toe gezip was.

Hou jou kamp plek skoon. Moenie vuil borde, kos op tafels los,gedurende die nag. Lok muise,rotte = slange.

Stoor jou kos in knaagdier bestande houers.

Leer om jou goed ,slaapsak,boots ens uit te skud, sou daar iets in wegkruip.

Hou jou tent toe gezip indien moontlik. Hou outjies buite,asook skerpioene ens.

Slaap op stretcher ens weg van grond. As jou tent toe bly, nie nodig.

As jy gaan stap, doen dit met n stap stok of kierrie. Jy kan jouself beskerm, op grond tik of slaan om vibrasie te veroorsaak wat slange vooraf waarsku jy kom aan.

Gebruik flits in die aand.

Sou jy slang teëkom. Staan eers stil, kyk vir slang en beweeg stadig terug.

Teen hierdie tyd het slang al aan beweeg.

Belangrikste, waarsku en leer jou kinders.

Om jou lewe op hold te sit,omdat jy bang is vir slange, is onnodig. Daar is n beter kans dat n kar jou omry voor n slang jou byt.

Dames wees rustig, volgens slang byt statistieke is mans tussen die ouderdom van 18 tot 35 jaar oud,wat die meeste gebyt word.

So gaan kamp lekker en geniet die natuur.
