UP Campus Tours closes women's month by celebrating and bidding farewell to a remarkable member of the University of Pretoria.

Our beloved library coordinator/senior information specialist Ms Gerda Ehler as she retires after 40 years of exceptional service. She has been a guiding light to countless students, researchers and colleagues throughout her career. Her commitment to knowledge, innovation in information services, and passion for empowering others has left an indelible mark on our institution.

UP Campus Tours would also like to thank her for her tireless dedication and the mentorship and wisdom shared with us in creating amazing experiences for years of UPCT teams and our visitors to the university. Your impact will be felt for many years to come.

Happy Africa Public Service Day from UP Campus Tour! 🥳

This celebration originated from a conference held in Morocco in 1994 to recognise the value of service within the continent 🌍

This day commemorates the front line of service delivery across the continent and creates a platform to share best practices to further promote innovation.

We celebrate the teachers, nurses, firefighters, policemen and so many other public service workers that work to make the lives of others better…

The tragic events of the youth uprising in Soweto on June 16th, 1976, remind us of the importance of building societies that promote quality education for all. As we remember the sacrifices of those brave students, we honour their legacy by continuing to strive for a world where every individual has access to inclusive, equitable, and quality education, and we build towards a brighter future where knowledge and opportunities are available to all.

In line with our 2025 theme, today UPCT celebrates with and supports our furry friends on World Otter Day🦦

Otters play an important role in maintaining the ecosystems of waterways. There are 13 otter species around the world and, unfortunately, many of them are endangered.

In South Africa we like them so much we named a famous hiking trail after them.
