When the winter rain starts falling, our valley restaurants become the perfect refuge😌 There's nothing quite like settling in by a crackling fireplace while the weather does its thing outside🌧️

These cosy spots serve up hearty dishes that warm you from the inside out, paired with wines that taste even better when there's a chill in the air🍷 Some of our best valley moments happen on the rainiest days✨

Nestled in the heart of the Riebeek Valley, The Royal Hotel - Riebeek Kasteel stands as one of South Africa’s oldest and most historically significant hotels🕰 A cornerstone of the community for well over a century, it remains a proud symbol of architectural and cultural heritage. The last major structural alteration to the building took place in 1927, with the addition of the distinctive arched ‘stoep’, a feature that continues to define the hotel's graceful façade.

As a registered South African Heritage site, every aspect of The Royal's upkeep is approached with care, respect, and historical awareness. They are committed to offering each guest an experience steeped in authenticity, timeless elegance and a profound sense of place😊

Riebeek Valley Tourism

Welcome to the Riebeek Valley! Nestling on the slopes of its own mountain, the dramatic Kasteelberg, the surrounds are wheatlands, vineyards and olive groves, creating a distinctive touch of the Mediterranean in Africa.

Only an hour from Cape Town, you will love the rural atmosphere of these quaint villages with a wide range of choice in accommodation, places to eat and drink, opportunities to do a bit of retail therapy or taste the delicious local wine, olives and other products.

Make this your base and explore beautiful beaches, majestic mountains, world renowned wine routes, the Karoo and the Mother City, all within an hour or two's drive from the valley. Immerse yourself in the magic of the Riebeek Valley!
