After 29 wonderful years, the Breede River Goose boat trips have come to an end. The devastating floods in May caused extensive damage, and sadly, the boat will no longer sail.

Thankfully the river is recovering and new life has returned to its banks. And so the GOOD NEWS is that the campsite continues and will reopen on 23 October 2026!

River Goose Campsite looks forward to welcoming campers back to the riverbanks...

𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘫𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘵 29 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘣𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘦, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦𝘴.

Guests have a choice of 22 campsites, each with its own braai facilities. 90% of the sites are on grass. The campsite is pet friendly with fishing and great activities for kids.

Activities include:
* Pristine fishing area - Species include small and large mouth bass, carp, barbel, blue gill.
* Volleyball sand court
* Feed the sheep
* Children's playground

Discover the historic rose garden at the Robertson Museum, established in the 1860s alongside Druid’s Lodge. Originally featuring tea roses from the East, the garden was lovingly extended with heritage cuttings from the Mayville house museum in Swellendam.

intoxicating scent of these rare heritage varieties.

A beautiful collection of living history. Please make sure to come and visit while they are in bloom!

This small town museum offers visitors a good insight into town life over the last century. Their aim is to collect, preserve and share the historical treasures of the town and the surrounding area.
