A NEW HIGH SCHOOL TO BE BUILT IN ST HELENA BAY

I am pleased to announce that in yesterday's Council meeting, the Saldanha Bay Municipal Council unanimously approved item R15/10-24 to waive development charges for the construction of a new High School in Laingville, St Helena Bay.

This long-awaited victory follows an almost 5-year process of dogged persistence by the Saldanha Bay Municipal Council to highlight and press upon authorities the dire need of a high school for the town of St Helena Bay.

As the Executive Mayor of Saldanha Bay Municipality and on behalf of Council, I am incredibly delighted about this new High School. It will bring renewed hope to our residents who will no longer have to face the prospect of sending their children away to neighboring towns for higher education.

My sincere gratitude goes out to the Councillors as well as the Administration of SBM who persisted, working tirelessly, to make this dream a reality. Hopefully this is the first of many schools to follow.

The school is estimated to accommodate +- 1120 learners.

Ek sal julle ewig dankbaar wees as julle 'n tydjie kan neem om hierdie vraelys bestaande uit twaalf vrae met drie opnames van verskillende uitsprake elk, tot die einde in te vul. Private whirlpool bath and pool

This is a fully furnished unit that can accommodate 4 guests. The cottage offers 2 comfortable bedrooms with double beds. Both bedrooms have wall-mounted fans, wardrobes, and bedside tables with lamps. There is a lovely-sized bathroom with a shower and all linen is provided, as well as towels for the whirlpool bath.

There is an open-plan, fully-fitted kitchen, with a fridge freezer, stove, and oven. There is also an old black Dover stove situated in the very large fireplace that is fully functional as well as an open-plan living area with a TV and full DSTV.

The whirlpool bath is on the entertainment deck with a braai, tables, and chairs. It offers amazing views of the bay and harbour. You can relax and cool off in the sparkling swimming pool, which is reserved for the guests of this unit only.

There is a cleaning service which is provided 3 times per week for long stays, more than 7 days, (excluding public holidays) and St Helena Bay now has 2 laundromats.

Other activities in St Helena Bay area include the De Gama Monument, the West Coast wildflowers, best in August and September, and the fishing harbour where you can buy fresh fish or barter for a snoek (in season). Trips on kayaks and fishing charters can also be arranged by contacting 067 883 0077. Surrounding towns are Paternoster, Velddrift, Saldanha, and Langebaan.

Wooden cabin with private whirlpool bath

A fully furnished, beautiful wooden cabin that can accommodate 6 guests. The cabin offers 3 comfortable bedrooms, 2 with double beds, and 1 with 2 single beds. All bedrooms have plenty of cupboard space and fans. There is a great size bathroom, with a lovely large corner bath, fitted with a shower attachment, and for those romantically inclined, there are dimmer lights. All linen is provided, just bring along your own beach towels.

The open-plan, fully fitted kitchen features a fridge with freezer, microwave, stove, and oven, and a 6-seater center table. The open-plan, inviting living area has a TV with full DSTV and a jet master fireplace for those cosy winter days and nights. This opens onto a large entertainment decking area with a built-in braai and a whirlpool bath to relax in.
