🦁 On 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲, we remember that lions belong in the wild, not in cages, petting enclosures or breeding farms.

Tourvest Destination Management stands with the Blood Lions campaign to end harmful practices like cub petting, walking with lions, canned hunting, and predator breeding. These activities strip lions of their freedom and fuel illegal wildlife trade, all under the guise of conservation.

True respect for wildlife means seeing lions thrive in their natural habitats where they roam free across Africa’s vast landscapes. Together, we can protect these magnificent creatures and ensure their roar echoes for generations.

Our Travel Specialist Mbali Shabangu and Tour Consultant Gina Yang recently experienced a Southern Sun educational trip in Mpumalanga province. They relaxed by the pool, kept active in the gym and enjoyed thrilling game drives.

Seeing this part of South Africa up close means they can provide better service and the best advice to our travellers.

South Africa is more than a destination. It is a journey full of memories.

Today, on World Ranger Day, we honour the brave men and women who protect the heart of our wilderness.

Rangers are the unsung heroes of our tourism industry, safeguarding endangered wildlife, preserving fragile ecosystems, and ensuring that future generations can continue to experience Africa’s natural beauty.

Their tireless work on the ground not only defends biodiversity but also makes it possible for travellers to witness nature in its purest form. From guiding safaris to standing guard against poaching, they are vital to both conservation and responsible tourism.

To all rangers across Southern Africa and beyond, we thank you and salute your unwavering dedication.

Our Travel Specialists Charlene Joseph and Tania Kelly continued their Chobe and Victoria Falls educational journey. They visited Elephant Valley and spent the night in a forest tent, a peaceful escape surrounded by nature. They also enjoyed a cruise on the Zambezi River.

A morning game drive brought close encounters with wildlife and a deeper connection to the bush.

Each experience added something special, turning their trip into a true African adventure.
