Winter calls for cosy moments, and that's exactly what we embraced at Sense of Africa, South Africa.

Swapping our usual dress code for pyjamas, we gathered for hot chocolate, marshmallows, rusks, and plenty of laughter. It was the perfect reminder that sometimes the simplest moments create the best memories.

Because a little warmth, good company, and team spirit go a long way during the colder months.

At Tourvest Destination Management, we believe that safeguarding our oceans requires collaboration, science, and long-term commitment.

Through our partnership with the Endangered Wildlife Trust, we are proud to support conservation efforts focused on the endangered Indian Ocean humpback dolphin. Together, we are helping to advance research, strengthen collaboration among key stakeholders, and contribute to the development of a Biodiversity Management Plan that will help secure the future of this remarkable species.

This World Ocean Day, we celebrate the partnerships and actions that help protect our marine ecosystems for generations to come.

On World Environment Day, Sense of Africa, South Africa is proud to support Tourvest Destination Management’s Orlando Dam Legacy Project, in collaboration with Fresh.ngo, focused on restoring vital wetlands in Soweto.

Wetlands are key to sustaining biodiversity, protecting water systems, and preserving the natural heritage that defines Africa’s landscapes.

Sense of Africa, South Africa is pleased to announce the promotion of Labious (Labi) Tlhapi to Team Manager for the SWAG (Swiss, Austrian & German) team.

With 14 years of dedicated service within Sense of Africa, Labi brings extensive experience, deep destination knowledge, and a strong commitment to excellence that will continue to strengthen the team in his new role.

Labi shared: “I feel very honoured about my new position and grateful for this wonderful opportunity.”

Our Travel Specialist Sheevani Ambaram and Business Development Consultant Sefalane Dube from the Sense of Africa team recently experienced the beauty of Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River.

They enjoyed a sunset cruise on the Wild Horizons Royal Cruise, where they watched a stunning sunset over the river. They were served delicious snacks while taking in the calm and scenic views of the Zambezi.

The experience also included a traditional Boma Dinner and a visit to the iconic Victoria Falls, where they witnessed the incredible power and beauty of the falls up close.

It was a memorable experience filled with beautiful views, great food, and special moments.

A few members of the Sense of Africa, South Africa team had the privilege of taking part in the Endangered Wildlife Trust golf day alongside our Tourvest partners.

It was a day full of great energy, laughter, and a shared purpose in support of an incredible cause. Our team is proud to have contributed towards supporting the vital conservation work carried out by the EWT.

Suzanne Benadie, Managing Executive, enjoyed a memorable escape in the Central Tuli at Koro River Lodge.

Following a busy period at the trade shows alongside UK industry colleagues, the bush provided the perfect opportunity to reset and reconnect with nature. The morning began with coffee in the wild, setting the tone for an immersive day in the wilderness.

An unforgettable on-foot tracking experience in search of hyena brought the landscape to life, followed by a relaxed lunch stop and a meaningful visit to a local school in the region.

The day concluded beneath a glowing baobab sunset, a fitting end to a journey that reflected the power of connection, nature and authentic African travel experiences.
