🐘 Junior Rangers Programme
Kwa Maritane has developed an engaging Junior Rangers Programme for children aged 6–12 years. Take a journey through the fauna and flora with a trained Field Guide. At the end of the week, children are awarded a certificate at a graduation ceremony to celebrate becoming Junior Rangers.
🐘 Game Walks
Kwa Maritane offers many exciting ways to experience the fauna and flora of the Pilanesberg National Park. Enjoy a variety of game-viewing activities, including game drives, game walks, visits to the hide, the viewing deck, the hide camera, bird walks and tree walks.
🐘 Game Drives
Guests can enjoy evening game drives through the reserve. The animals are accustomed to the vehicles, allowing you to get within 5 to 10 metres of many of the larger predators, even while they are feeding.
🐘 Reptile Demonstrations
Get up close to these fascinating creatures as one of the rangers introduces you to a variety of reptiles. Bookings are essential and must be made at the Wildlife Centre. Subject to snake behaviour and weather conditions.
🐘 Stargazing
Journey through the night sky and join the guides on the helipad for an unforgettable stargazing experience (weather permitting). Bookings are essential and can be made at the Wildlife Centre.
🐘 Bush Boma Dinners
Enjoy a traditional South African braai under the African skies at the Bush Boma every Wednesday and Saturday. Subject to weather conditions and minimum numbers.
🐘 Table Tennis
Challenge your family and friends to a game of table tennis. Equipment is available from Reception.
🐘 Outdoor Chess
Enjoy a game of chess on the outdoor life-sized chess set.
🐘 Slide Pool
Bring the whole family to the pool, featuring a fun slide into a splash pool for the children.
🐘 Rock Climbing Wall
Test your skills on the climbing wall. Bookings are essential and must be made at least one hour in advance at the Wildlife Centre. Subject to availability and weather conditions.
🐘 Putt-Putt
Enjoy a round on the 9-hole bush putt-putt course. Equipment is available from Reception.
🐘 Viewing from the Hide
Experience one of Kwa Maritane's unique attractions. The 150-metre underground tunnel leads to a viewing hide overlooking a popular waterhole in the Pilanesberg National Park. The Africam live waterhole camera operates 24/7 with pan, tilt and zoom functions, capturing incredible wildlife sightings. Regular visitors include the Big Five, as well as springbok, kudu, hippos, wildebeest, and many other species. A live feed from the waterhole is also available on the television in every room.
