Seven hard hunting days, a lot of miles on foot, plenty of ups and downs, and memories that will stay with us for a very long time.
This was one of those safaris where nothing came easy. We walked hard, tracked for hours, dealt with changing winds, missed opportunities, and the kind of moments that test your patience and determination. But that’s real hunting, and honestly, it makes the success mean that much more in the end.
What stood out most on this hunt was not only the quality of the trophies, but the people behind the experience. In hunting, complete strangers often become good friends very quickly, and good friends eventually become family. Spending long days together in the bush has a way of building bonds that are hard to explain to people who have never experienced it themselves.
There is also something special about true sportsmanship amongst hunters. Celebrating each other’s successes, staying positive during the difficult moments, helping one another through the tough days, and appreciating the privilege of being out in wild places together. That is the side of hunting that means the most and often lasts far longer than the trophies themselves.
And in the end, we made it count. Mature animals, hard-earned opportunities, and trophies that speak for themselves. Every mile walked and every challenge faced was worth it.
That’s what a real African safari is all about.
