Bible Run 2026 a Great Success in Senekal
The streets and scenic farm roads around Senekal came alive this past weekend as runners, walkers and supporters gathered for the Bible Run, organised by the Senekal Multi Sport Club.
The event took place on Saturday, 3 October 2026, with participants starting and finishing at the NG Kerk Senekal Noord. Registration opened early in the morning before the official start at 07:00, with enthusiastic participants taking part in either the 10 km race or the 5 km fun run and walk.
Held under the memorable theme βLet Your Tekkies Burn for Jesus,β the Bible Run was organised to raise funds for the distribution of Bibles. The route took participants through parts of Senekal and neighbouring farms, giving runners the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful rural surroundings while supporting a meaningful cause. A large portion of the 10 km route also included gravel roads, adding an extra challenge for competitors.
The 10 km event welcomed runners aged 12 years and older, while the 5 km fun run and walk was open to all ages, making the day an enjoyable outing for families as well as more serious runners.
After the race, participants and supporters could enjoy breakfast at NG Senekal-Noord, adding to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the occasion.
According to the organisers, the event was a great success, and the Senekal Multi Sport Club is extremely pleased with the support and overall results of this yearβs Bible Run.
The success of the event has encouraged the club to make it an annual fixture on the Senekal calendar, with plans already in place to host the Bible Run every year.
The organisers also expressed their appreciation to everyone who participated, supported the event and contributed towards making the day possible, including the various sponsors and members of the community.
With its combination of sport, fellowship, community involvement and a worthy cause, the Bible Run has the potential to become a much-anticipated yearly event in Senekal.
