🔍 How to spot a genuine holiday rental
Booking a holiday rental should feel exciting, but unfortunately there are a few risky listings.
Before you pay over a deposit anywhere, here’s what to look out for:
✅ Check the listing across a few different platforms. A genuine host shows up consistently.
✅ Look for a solid history of reviews.
✅ A quick reverse image search on the photos can put your mind at ease.
✅ Ask for a proper invoice before paying
✅ Check the contact number through a trusted directory
🚩 If a rate looks too good to be true, more often than not it is a red flag.
A genuine host will always be upfront about the property itself, which complex, how secure it is and whether you’re beachfront or a short walk away. They are always reachable and won’t pressure you to decide before you’re ready.
