Best seat in the house 🪑🦁

to my first job in the safari industry on the tracker seat with Ezulwini Lodges, Kruger, South Africa.

The start of 10 years spent working in safari guiding and lodge management across South Africa and Kenya.

This was one of my favourite spots, reading the “bush newspaper” reading the signs and tracks in the sand that would hopefully lead us to a big game sighting.

A safari isn’t just another holiday — and it shouldn’t be planned like one. 🦁✨
After 10 years living and working in Africa as a safari guide and lodge manager, followed by 10 years creating tailor-made travel, I understand both sides of an exceptional safari: what happens on the ground and what it takes to make the entire journey work seamlessly.

Every itinerary I create is designed personally around you, with one-to-one support throughout and a focus on responsible lodges, local operators, conservation and community impact.

Whether you’re dreaming of your first safari, a once-in-a-lifetime celebration or a return to somewhere wild, let’s create something extraordinary.

Send me a message or e-mail me at [email protected] to start planning.

The ultimate romantic Kenyan adventure.... 💚

This ten-night itinerary brings together some of Kenya’s most memorable and romantic experiences:

🦒 Two nights at Giraffe Manor
Share breakfast with the resident giraffes and begin your trip at one of Kenya’s most iconic hotels.

🌿 Two nights at Loisaba Tented Camp
Spend your day exploring the wild landscapes of Laikipia before relaxing at this beautiful camp overlooking the conservancy.

✨ One night at Loisaba Star Beds
Fall asleep beneath the African sky in a handcrafted four-poster bed rolled out onto your private open-air platform.

🦁 Three nights at Cottar’s 1920s Camp
Step back into the romance of a classic Kenyan safari, with beautiful vintage tents, exceptional wildlife encounters and a soak in your outdoor bath overlooking the wilderness.

🌴 Three nights at Peponi Hotel, Lamu
Finish beside the Indian Ocean, with slow days, dhow sailing, fresh seafood and sunset drinks on this wonderfully relaxed island.

Giraffes at breakfast, a bed beneath the stars, proper old-fashioned safari romance and a few barefoot days by the ocean—this would make an unforgettable honeymoon, anniversary trip or once-in-a-lifetime adventure for two.
Kenya really does romance very well. 🇰🇪

Send me a message if you’d like me to create your own romantic Kenyan journey.

There is something very special about experiencing Kenya on foot 👣✨

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to explore Kenya's Laikipia area on foot with the wonderful team .

Following wildlife tracks, noticing the smaller details and listening to the sounds of the wild without the barrier of a vehicle was a magical experience.

Our days weren’t only about walking. There were camels, rock climbing, beautiful views, plenty of laughter and that wonderful feeling of being completely immersed in the wilderness.

The Karisia team made the whole experience feel adventurous, relaxed and incredibly well looked after. I had such a fabulous time with them that I decided to put together a women's-only group trip for next June! 🐪🥾🌿

So if you are a women looking for adventure, do get in touch to find out how you can join me walking wild with Karisia next year.

Or if you'd like to experience Kenya on foot with family or friends, then e-mail me to find out how you can include Karisia in your next African adventure.

to my time managing Mahali Mzuri, the Virgin Limited Edition safari camp in Kenya’s Olare Motorogi Conservancy.

Managing the camp was a unique experince.
It's a fantastic property in a beautiful position overlooking the valley, with an incredible team of staff and a fascinating mix of guests arriving from around the world.

At the same time, running a luxury camp in the Kenyan wilderness on behalf of a large UK-based company came with its challenges. Balancing corporate expectations with the day-to-day realities of operating somewhere so remote was not always easy—but it taught me a huge amount about leadership, resilience and the many moving parts behind a successful safari camp.

When I look at this photograph, it is the team and the experiences we shared that I remember most. It was a significant chapter of my life in Kenya and one that helped shape the knowledge and perspective I now bring to Walking Wild Africa. 🇰🇪

✨Introducing Azura Benguerra in Mozambique ✨

Azura Benguerra is barefoot luxury at its best with beach-chic villas, breathtaking ocean views and a team whose genuine warmth makes you feel completely spoiled.

Arrive by helicopter over Mozambique's swirling blues and sandbanks, dine beneath star-filled skies and swap scrolling for a traditional Mozambican board game at the bar.

Beautifully connected to its island community, this is somewhere that refreshes far more than your tan. ☀️😎

Can you imagine standing this close to a white rhino? 🦏

These rescued white rhinos are cared for at a sanctuary on the edge of Kenya’s Maasai Mara. Sadly, they will never be able to be fully released into the wild, but they are free to roam and graze during the day under the watchful eyes and protection of their rangers. At night, they return to a protected enclosure where they can be kept safe.

Because the rhinos are habituated to the presence of their carers, guests staying nearby can visit them and, accompanied by their rangers, walk alongside these extraordinary prehistoric animals. It is only when you are standing near them that you truly appreciate their immense size and presence.

We had the joy of visiting while staying at , cycling to the sanctuary on the camp’s electric bikes. It made for a wonderfully adventurous afternoon.

A rare opportunity to spend time with white rhinos while learning more about the people working every day to protect them. 🤍
