The Other Animals Safaris Our love for nature is only surpassed by our love for sharing in the experiences with our guests 🐾

Our existence depends on the continued existence of the landscapes, ecosystems and wildlife that make this region of South Africa so remarkable.

This World Environment Day, we are reminded that protecting nature is not simply about conserving wildlife. It is about safeguarding the systems that support all life, including our own.

The Endangered Southern Ground Hornbill is one example of what can be achieved when conservation organisations, landowners, communities and businesses work together towards a common goal. Through dedicated protection and monitoring programmes, this iconic bird continues to have a future in the Greater Kruger.

Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.

At The Other Animals Safaris, we believe it is our responsibility to highlight and support the initiatives that protect the habitats and species that make this region what it is, because our future is inseparable from theirs.

Hoedspruit is firmly positioned in the bush and the Greater Kruger, but if you follow the road west of the town, the mountains immediately rise before you. The road takes you over a pass and through a tunnel into a different world - one filled with canyons, cliffs, swirling rivers, waterfalls and viewpoints with endless vistas. This is the Panorama Route and it can’t be missed. If you are in Hoedspruit for a few days, contact The Other Animals Safaris to book this incredible day tour.

The dry season has arrived in the Kruger. Week by week the waterholes get busier and and the sightings just get better. Join The Other Animals for a Safari of a lifetime!

Enjoy these 30 seconds of calm from the N’wanetsi Viewpoint. Footage is one thing, but it’s even better in person. Take the short paved walk up the hill at the picnic spot and see the Kruger for yourself.

Just over 4 months into 2026 and to say it has been a challenging year so far is an understatement when the region was greatly impacted by the January floods. Receiving great reviews and good feedback about the Kruger Park compared to other safari destinations in Africa is good for business and safari tourism in South Africa as a whole.

Siblings - you know how it goes, wrestling, play fighting and seeking mom’s attention. The one thing that stands out is these cubs are tied together for life. These two little males will go off and form their own coalition when they reach around two years of age, dependent on one another for companionship and protection and sharing fatherhood responsibilities when the time comes. Such social animals and incredible dynamics from such a young age. For now, everything revolves around playtime, naps and mom! What an amazing sighting!

Better late than never 🐾April was a total whirlwind, and honestly, we’re still playing catch-up! We might already be four days into May, but we are still on such a high from everything that’s happened. We touched down back home in Hoedspruit after an incredible week at WTM Africa. It was amazing to be in Cape Town, but there’s no place like the bush to ground you again.

šŸŒāœˆļø Back in the Kruger, we’ve been soaking up those simple pleasures. ā€œRunningā€ with the wild dogs and keeping up with the local lion pride, it truly can’t be beat. There is no better ā€œwelcome homeā€ than that! 🦁

šŸŽ„Thanks to Emanuel Nkosinathi Ngwenya for the footage

Today on International Leopard Day, we’re highlighting the critical need for habitat preservation. As human footprints expand, leopards are increasingly navigating shared landscapes.

Successful conservation of leopards isn’t just about saving the animal; it’s about managing the human-leopard interface through:
šŸ†Protecting vital wildlife corridors.
šŸ†Educating communities who live along the buffer zones.
šŸ†Promoting education to foster coexistence over conflict.
