In the heart of the Okavango Delta, romance took a rather dramatic turn.

Two lionesses. One male. And absolutely no interest in sharing.

The lioness who started the showdown was the male’s longtime partner — and mother of his cubs. When another female started making advances, she was having none of it.

Things escalated quickly, until the male himself stepped in to break up the dispute.

Because in the animal kingdom, sometimes the message is simple: what’s mine is mine. 😉

A wild reminder that behind every beautiful safari sighting, there’s a whole lot of drama unfolding in the bush.
