Whale Watching in Cape Town, South Africa🇿🇦

_Best Time: June to November, with peak viewing in September to October.

_Main Species: Southern Right Whales (most common), Humpbacks, and Bryde’s Whales.

Top Spots:

1, Hermanus; world famous for land based watching and the Whale Festival.

2, False Bay; sightings from Simon's Town, Kalk Bay.

3, Chapman's Peak and Hout Bay; scenic coastal views.

4, Gansbaai; excellent boat tours, Available from Cape Town, Hermanus and Gansbaai usually 1.5 to 2.5 hours long.

-Tips:Dress warmly, bring binoculars, and book early during peak season.

Dear Visitors,

Table Mountain National Park would like to remind visitors to take note of the following safety rules:

• Don’t hike alone – we recommend four or more. Why not join a hiking club and open the door to a world of new experiences!
• Ensure you know the route before starting the hike.
• Take a map with you no matter how well you know the area.
• Tell someone not hiking with you what time to expect you home so they can raise the alarm if you don’t arrive timeously.
• Please ensure each person in the group has enough water with them. Dehydration is a real danger.
• Check the weather before you depart.
• Hike with a jacket, hat, and sunblock. The weather in Cape Town changes hourly.
• Stick to designated tracks.
• Leave your valuables at home.
• Please load our emergency number into your phone before setting off. Table Mountain National Park Emergency Number 086 110 6417. Wilderness Search and Rescue Number 021 937 0300 or dial 112.
• Entry to the park remains at all times at your own risk.
