We may have discovered something rather special at Reiersvlei.. 👀🥳

While exploring the Limestone Hills, Corinne spotted a plant she’d never seen here before.

It turns out to be Cliffortia anthospermoides - a rare and endangered shrub believed to occur only in the Gansbaai area.

And there’s more…

The hills are currently covered in tiny spring flowers, some of them endemic to our area. We even have two mystery plants waiting to be identified by scientists in Cape Town. 👀How exciting!!

Could Reiersvlei have another botanical surprise up its sleeve?

We’re waiting with bated breath! 🌱💚

These little discoveries are also a wonderful reminder that our ongoing alien vegetation clearing is helping create space for indigenous fynbos to thrive.

We had an amazing bush drive this evening. I found a rare plant I have been searching for on a limestone koppie at the back of the farm, enjoyed a sundowner on the deck and then encountered a very handsome bushbuck on our way home. What a life 😀!

We've been a little quieter on social media lately... BUT life on the farm has been anything but QUIET. 👀😅

Following the recent storms, the farm needed a little extra TLC.

Our much loved mosaic was blown off the wall and is in for repairs.
The many battered trees have been cut, cleared and tidied up.
Our wonderful team of men have been very busy tackling the alien vegetation - an essential annual farm task.

We are incredibly grateful for their dedication and hardwork that helps keep Reiersvlei looking its best.

Last week’s storm certainly left its mark on the farm. 🌧️💨

From broken trees and a damaged reservoir roof to battered Bougainvillea, Reiersvlei took quite a hammering from the weather.

Thankfully, despite the damage around the property, the farmhouse itself remains safe and untouched. 🏡

A huge thank you to our incredible team who have worked tirelessly clearing, repairing and restoring after the storm. 🌿
