Vergenoegd Löw near Stellenbosch will host a stirring afternoon of classical music on Saturday, 2 August, with a special performance by the acclaimed Take Four Piano Quartet, a highlight on the calendar as South Africa enters Women’s Month.

The ensemble features four of the country’s most celebrated classical musicians: Zanta Hofmeyr (violin), Jeanne-Louise Moolman (viola), Susan Mouton (cello), and Elna van der Merwe (piano). Longstanding friends and respected soloists, the quartet formed in 2022, united by their shared love of chamber music and a desire to perform together.

Our Story

Laanhof is a self-catering guest house located at 26 Die Laan in Stellenbosch, on a piece of land with a rich history stretching back to the 18th century.

First owned by the magistrate of Stellenbosch in the 1700s, Jan Marthinus Beyers bought the property in 1881 and later built six semi-detached houses on it, of which Laanhof’s Victorian House is one.

Today Laanhof is owned by the Scannell family, and run by their son Jack Scannell.
