Join us for 1 big fashion show hosted on 2 nights!

As we reflect, consolidate and celebrate our 30th Birthday - we thought celebrating our heritage through our show poster will continue to tell the EG story.

The illustrations featured on our poster and other show marketing materials have been selected from old student work and have been hand illustrated by EG Alumni Stephan Olivier whom is also our resident artist.

Ticket sales will open to students first and then to public.

Knitwear Remix:

Waste to Wear is a hands-on circular-fashion workshop presented as part of EGAFD Creative Saturdays at Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion Design in Stellenbosch.

Participants will work with donated knitted waste, offcuts and reject pieces, transforming them into one-of-a-kind jerseys, wraps, snoods or draped wearable layers. The process is experimental and accessible, and no previous sewing or fashion experience is required. Participants will be guided in selecting, draping, combining and finishing the knitted pieces to create an individual wearable item to take home.

Workshop details
Dates: Saturday, 5 September and Saturday, 3 October 2026
Time: 14:00–17:00
Venue: Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion Design, Stellenbosch
Ticket price: R250 per person
Capacity: Maximum 24 participants per workshop

Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion, in partnership with Reflekt Model Management, is excited to announce the launch of the Fashion Your Future 2026 Student Bursary Competition.

The competition invites young creatives to design and submit a wearable fashion piece, such as a garment, accessory, or wearable art piece.

Finalists will have their work showcased at the Garden Route Fashion & Creative Expo, with access to mentorship, industry exposure, and professional development.

The winning entrant will receive:

- A full first-year academic bursary (excluding registration, kit, and shop fees) at Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion, valid for 2027–2028

- A bursary for the Model & Fashion Industry Skills Programme at Reflekt Development Division
A styled photoshoot with Linda Greyling Photography

Key dates:
Final entry submission: 25 September 2026

Finalist announcement: 30 September 2026

This past weekend EG traveled to the cold Karoo fothe annual Karoo Winter Wool Festival!

Our team of staff and students had the privilege of immersing ourselves in the incredible world of natural fibres. From a fascinating tour of Dwarsvlei Farm to insightful panel discussions and live demonstrations, the trip offered valuable learning and inspiration at every turn.

We also had the opportunity to experience the exceptional craftsmanship behind beautiful products made from South African mohair and merino wool, gaining a deeper appreciation for the journey from fibre to finished product.

A massive thank you to Cape Wools and the Karoo Winter Wool Festival for making this enriching experience possible. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with industry experts, learn from passionate producers and makers, and be inspired by the innovation and heritage of South Africa’s wool and mohair industries.

Today we remember our Founder, Elizabeth. As we remember her, we also have the honour of celebrating 30 years in Fashion - which would not have been possible without Elizabeth's dream and drive.

We thank Elizabeth for establishing a Fashion home for many, a place where we all have had the opportunity to fall in love with our passion and craft.

We look forward to the next 30.
