SMYC South Africa Southern Most Yacht Club, l'Agulhas, South Africa

As the name indicates, the Southernmost Yacht Club (SMYC) is situated near l'Agulhas, at the Southernmost Tip of Africa. The nearby village of Struisbaai, with its stretching white beaches, has, for many years, been one of the best kept secrets for those locals (and regular holiday-makers) who love windsports such as sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. During the December 2011 holidays, a few of

the local sailors came together for the unofficial launch of the SMYC. Of course, the event included some sailing and a group of sailors sailed across the beautiful blue bay of Struisbaai to the nearby village of Arniston. In total, 10 catamarans joined in, with some of the sailors coming from as far as the Free State, Gauteng and even London!
