Exploring the winding channels of the Delta by Makoro is an unforgettable experience. We were graced with Kudu sightings and close up encounters with the Angolan Reed Frogs that played chorus to every evening around the fire.

Water brings life and it was wonderful to be a part of it for a few days in Botswana.

No music to this video as the sounds of nature bring everything to life and listening the alarm calls of birds nearby can often lead you to incredible sightings.

We're travelling with Wild Expeditions Africa next week and look forward to seeing the flood levels throughout the Delta.

This year has been an exceptional year for rainfall - with the Okavango receiving well over double its average annual rainfall. Normally, the region expects around 450 millimetres of rain in a season, yet much of the Okavango has received well over 1000 millimetres this season.

We'll be sharing updates as we go.

Glorious Okavango day today at Karangoma. There were about 100 elephant along a kilometre of this new floodwater channel.

If you’re considering an epic African adventure that allows you to experience four countries in one seamless journey, the β€œFour Corners” region is one of the most unique and accessible places to do it.

Where Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Namibia meet along the mighty Zambezi River, travel has become significantly easier thanks to the completion of the Kazungula Bridge. This modern border crossing links Botswana and Zambia directly, reducing transit times and simplifying logistics that once required unreliable ferries and lengthy delays.

What makes this region so special:
β€’ You can stand within a short distance of four countries in a single day
β€’ Good road networks and border infrastructure make self-drive or guided travel straightforward
β€’ Iconic destinations are all within close reach – from Chobe National Park (Botswana) to Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe/Zambia) and the Caprivi Strip (Namibia)
β€’ Multiple border posts in close proximity allow for flexible routing and circular itineraries

For travellers wanting variety without long internal flights, this region offers an exceptional combination of wildlife, landscapes and cultures, all within a compact and well-connected area.

It’s one of the few places in the world where crossing borders feels less like a hurdle and more like part of the adventure.

It’s always an opportunity to unwind from daily routines and enjoy the surrounds of nature in its element.
