We have been enjoying a great deal of lion activity around the greater lodge area. The Tumbela males and the Othawa female lions have been patrolling nonstop.

The stillness of the night has been interrupted by constant roaring and territory marking.

✨ Let's talk kids on safari ✨

So often their experience is an afterthought. But not at Tuningi Safari Lodge

For families with children there is no better place to be. Kids over 5 are invited to join the adults for regular game drives, while little ones under 5 are taken out for shorter 'bumbles' in the bush with a ranger. Before heading off on their drive, the kids are issued with a work book (for those old enough), in which they can tick off the things they’ve seen such as dung, animals, spoor, birds and trees.

During ‘Kids Club”, for an hour per day, they will be doing treasure hunts, play the memory game, build puzzles, play with clay dough, paint their own T-shirts and draw pictures.
